P12 Educator/Student Educator Day

Teachers for Social Justice (www.t4sj.org) will be leading a morning session for teachers and student teachers on the politics and practicalities of organizing teachers.  This includes organizing for meaningful curriculum and multicultural pedagogy as well as struggles for workers’ rights and progressive educational policy.  Participants will leave the session with a toolbox and insights into how to advance such organizing work.  

Participants in the Saturday morning program will also have access to the NAME Conference keynote speakers, MC Film Festival, breakout sessions, exhibitors and other conference activities on Saturday, including Angela Davis’ evening keynote address.

Teachers 4 Social Justice is a grassroots non-profit teacher support and development organization in San Francisco.  Our mission is to provide opportunities for self-transformation, leadership, and community building to educators in order to affect meaningful change in the classroom, school, community and society. T4SJ organizes teachers and community-based educators and implements programs and projects that develop empowering learning environments, more equitable access to resources and power, and realizing a just and caring culture.
