SPRING into NAME Local Conferences

Georgia Chapter of NAME Announces Their
SPRING CONFERENCE:

Pedagogy, Practice and Advocacy for Equity &
Social Justice in P–16+:  DOING THE WORK

March 27, 2010
9 am – 4:30 pm
at the
Univ. of GA Gwinnett Campus
2530 Sever Road, Lawrenceville GA

The purpose of the GA NAME Spring Conference is to unite individuals from a variety of community and educational organizations to provide leadership in state and national discussions and action regarding education. GA-NAME’s Spring Event hopes to provide a place of respite… A place where educators and advocates can stop for a moment and rest, recharge, and plan for action. This event will provide an opportunity for individuals interested in education to ‘workshop’ together – moving beyond a determination of our needs toward doing the work in which we so deeply believe.
Registration Fee:    $25
Students/Teams of 6+:   $20
On-Site Registration:   $40

FOR REGISTRATION INFO contact Jenny Penny Oliver: jpo@uga.edu

PA-NAME’s 12th Annual Conference:

March 26-27, 2010
at the
Indiana University of Pennsylvania

Theme: “A Renewed Multicultural Agenda toward
Achieving an Equitable Society”

Recent gains in social equity have led to the perception that we have achieved a more just society. However, the optimism has to be tempered by the fact that complacency is not in order. There remain deep divisions that must be overcome. At this conference, presenters will offer solutions about how their work, research, program initiatives and awareness raising move us toward a more equitable society.
