Equity Assistance Centers

Public schools and other educators working to reduce achievement gaps and expand educational equity can receive resources, technical assistance and consulting services through their Equity Assistance Center (EACs). The network of ten regional service centers is funded through the US Department of Education to provide technical assistance and consultation services to on issues related to race/culture, gender, national origin educational equity. There is a center within each federal region offering services and resources to reduce disparities in educational outcomes for historically underserved groups. Each EAC provides training and advisory services in collaboration with other agencies, and focused on local needs and priorities. Funding for the EACs comes through Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
